Key Note Speakers
Andre Teixeira
Dr Andre Teixeira is a board-certified bariatric, general, and robotic surgeon at the Orlando Health Weight Loss and Bariatric Surgery Institute. With over 20 years of experience and more than 4,000 procedures performed, he is a national leader in minimally invasive metabolic surgery, robotic innovation, and endoscopic weight-loss interventions. Dr Teixeira completed his general surgery residency at Orlando Health and fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Florida. A bilingual educator and faculty at international programs like IRCAD, he pioneers advanced techniques such as SADI, EndoFLIP-guided sleeves, and robotic revisional surgery. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and a passionate mentor, speaker, and researcher. His mission is to transform lives through compassionate, evidence-based, and cutting-edge care.
Matthew Kroh
Matthew Kroh, MD, FACS, FASMBS, FASGE is Professor of Surgery in the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine and the Chief Medical Officer, Core Surgical Innovation at Medtronic. He most recently served as Vice Chair of Innovation and Technology in the Digestive Disease Institute at Cleveland Clinic and Division Chief of Foregut Surgery and Surgical Endoscopy in the Department of General Surgery. He has previously held the positions of Chair, Digestive Disease Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Program Director for the Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery and Flexible Surgical Endoscopy Fellowship at Cleveland Clinic, the Clerkship Director for Surgery in the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, and the Surgical Director of both the Advanced Endoscopy Center and the Esophageal Center. He has also held the role of Director of the Center for Advanced Skills Training in the Cleveland Clinic Simulation Center. He has authored more than 250 peer-reviewed articles, 30 book chapters, and 4 textbooks. He has served on the boards of the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, in addition to multiple committee chair positions. He is a member of the American Surgical Association. He is the current Editor-In-Chief of the Journal of Surgical Innovation.
